This policy applies to the Big Timer web app at bigtimer.boncode.net.

Short version: Big Timer does not collect, store, or share any of your personal data. No accounts, no analytics, no third-party services, no external requests. Your settings stay on your device. That is the whole story.

1. Overview

Big Timer is a free, browser-based countdown timer built for presenters and speakers. It runs entirely in your web browser. There is no user account, no sign-in, no database, and no server-side processing of your activity.

We built Big Timer with a privacy-first principle: the app should work without ever needing to know who you are or what you do.

2. Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information. Specifically, Big Timer:

Does not ask for your name, email, phone number, or any other identifier.
Does not use analytics tools (no Google Analytics, no fingerprinting, no telemetry).
Does not record your IP address or browsing behavior.
Does not use tracking pixels or advertising SDKs.
Does not transmit your timer settings or theme choices to any server.

The app has no backend of its own, so there is nowhere for your data to be sent even if it tried to.

3. Local Storage

Big Timer uses your browser's localStorage to remember your preferences between visits. This includes:

Your last timer duration (for example, 05:00).
Your selected theme (Dark, Light, or Custom).
Your custom background and text colors.

What this means for you

This data is stored only on your device, inside your browser.
It is never sent to us or to any third party.
You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for bigtimer.boncode.net, or by uninstalling the app.

4. Third-Party Services

Big Timer does not load any third-party resources. All fonts (Roboto Condensed for the timer and Inter for the interface) are bundled directly with the app and served from the same origin. There are no requests to Google Fonts, CDNs, analytics providers, or any other external service.

This means your browser never contacts any third-party server while using Big Timer.

5. Cookies

Big Timer does not use cookies. We do not set any cookies for tracking, authentication, advertising, or any other purpose.

6. Service Worker and Offline Use

As a Progressive Web App, Big Timer installs a service worker that caches the app's files (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and images) on your device. This allows the timer to keep working when you are offline.

These cached files are static app resources only. They contain no information about you and are not reported back to us. You can clear the cache at any time through your browser settings.

7. Children's Privacy

Big Timer does not collect any personal data from anyone, including children. The app is suitable for use by people of all ages. Because we collect nothing, the protections required under laws such as COPPA are inherently satisfied.

8. Your Rights

Because we do not collect or process your personal data, you do not need to exercise data access or deletion rights with us. If you want to remove all traces of your use of Big Timer, simply:

Clear your browser's site data for bigtimer.boncode.net (this removes the localStorage preferences).
Uninstall the app from your device (this removes the cached service-worker files).

If you are in a region covered by the GDPR, CCPA, or similar regulations, rest assured there is no personal data of yours in our possession to access, correct, or delete.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we ever change how Big Timer handles data, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Because the app is open source, any change to data handling would also be visible in the source code on GitHub.
